Section 8 Choice Voucher Program Highlights

• A family must be receiving rental assistance through IHDA’s Section 8 rental assistance program.
• You must be a first time homebuyer.
  (A first time home buyer is someone who has not owned a home for the last three years.)
• An applicant for the homeownership program must clear up any blemishes on their credit.
• An individual must have worked full time for a least one year in order to participate in the Homeownership Program.

• Earned annual income must be at least $10,300 – $14,500 depending on local HUD requirements.
• An applicant must attend a Homebuyer Education class
